Authorities from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are collaborating on the investigation. Banta, arrested on June 6 after months of investigation, is accused of deleting incriminating information from his phone, besides ordering abortion drugs online.
Health Situation and Charges
The girlfriend, informed she was pregnant with a healthy baby, reportedly wanted to keep the child. However, after the incident at a coffee shop on October 17, she experienced extreme fatigue and heavy bleeding, ultimately resulting in a miscarriage two days later.

Banta faces charges not only for capital murder but also for evidence tampering. Despite these allegations, Banta was released on bond and maintains innocence, with his attorney, Michael Heiskell, stating the charges are “purely fictional.”
Legal and Social Implications
Texas law prohibits most abortions with strict criminal penalties, and this case highlights the state’s firm stance on unauthorized abortions. Banta’s actions, if proven true, challenge both legal boundaries and ethical norms.
