Melania Documentary BREAKS Historic Box Office Records

A new documentary about First Lady Melania Trump could break decade-old box office records for documentary films, despite facing significant challenges in securing theater showings across the country.

Box Office Projections Show Promise

According to industry reports, the documentary titled ‘Melania’ is generating momentum in presales and could debut with earnings of $5 million or more. This performance would mark the strongest opening for a documentary film in ten years, potentially surpassing Angel Studios’ 2023 release ‘After Death.’ The film focuses on the twenty days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration, offering viewers an inside look at the transition process through the First Lady’s perspective.

The documentary captures Melania Trump orchestrating inauguration preparations, managing White House transition complexities, and relocating her family back to Washington, D.C. Industry analysts note the film’s unique positioning as it provides unprecedented access to typically private governmental transition activities.

Theater Distribution Faces Obstacles

Despite positive presale indicators, the film encounters significant distribution hurdles. Box office tracking services report that many theater chains remain reluctant to screen the documentary, leading to a shrinking theatrical release footprint. Early reports suggested limited ticket sales in initial markets, raising questions about nationwide audience demand. The film premiered at the Kennedy Center on January 30, 2026, before its broader theatrical rollout.

Streaming Strategy and Director Background

Following its theatrical run, the documentary will stream on Prime Video, though no specific release date has been announced for the digital platform. The film marks director Brett Ratner’s return to filmmaking after a twelve-year hiatus, with his last directorial effort being 2014’s ‘Hercules.’ Ratner previously faced industry controversy, making this project his comeback vehicle. The documentary’s dual-platform approach reflects modern distribution strategies that balance theatrical prestige with streaming accessibility for political documentaries.

  1. Sadly,I used to be a Melania fan but when she wrote in her book:

“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body? A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.”
“Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life.”
She reiterated her stance on abortion Thursday morning in a social media teaser promoting her book: “Individual freedom is a fundamental principle that I safeguard. Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth.”
So,Melania the Movie, would not be playing, if her Mother had aborted Melania.

  2. Melania has a few things turned around concerning pregnancy: Whether to get pregnant or not get pregnant is the “CHOICE”. After pregnancy, the choice of having or not having a baby has already been made. After pregnancy the choice concerning child birth is a choice of whether to have a “LIVE” baby or a “DEAD” baby. “LIFE” has begun when becoming pregnant. There are TOO many ways to avoid pregnancy and have control over the body.

  3. Melania was not an innocent bystander during the Epstein years, yet she chose to remain silent. How did those young victims have the power to determine the fate of their own bodies?
