An appalling crime involving a beloved pastor in Arizona has stunned the nation. Authorities are working diligently to uncover the depth of an alleged terror plan.
Suspect Confesses to Crime
Adam Sheafe, 51, confessed to the brutal murder of New River pastor William Schonemann, famously known as “Pastor Bill.” Sheafe stated the murder was part of a supposed divine mission to punish religious leaders he deemed misleading.
Alongside this heinous crime, Sheafe reportedly planned to execute a campaign targeting 14 religious leaders across America. He admitted intentions to start with a priest in Phoenix, aiming for nationwide “executions.”
A Dark and Chilling Plan
Sheafe described placing a crown of thorns on Schonemann’s head during the murder and planned further attacks in Sedona. Initially evading capture after a burglary, he led authorities on a high-speed chase before his arrest.
Evidence indicates that if Sheafe hadn’t been captured, he intended to extend his acts to different U.S. cities. He expressed a belief in divine forgiveness and a desire for the death penalty.
Community Reeling From Tragedy
Sheafe remains in Coconino County Jail awaiting extradition to Maricopa County, with charges pending. Law enforcement continues to investigate motives while addressing the fear instilled in the local community.
Pastor Schonemann, known for his compassionate leadership, leaves behind a deeply religious and mourning community. Authorities are focused on ensuring the safety and restoring peace amidst the brewing tensions.
