Congress BLOCKS Trump Iran Strikes in Showdown

Congressional leaders from both parties are forcing a constitutional showdown over President Trump’s military strikes against Iran, demanding an immediate vote on war powers when Congress reconvenes next week.

Bipartisan Push for Constitutional Vote

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Representative Thomas Massie are leading a bipartisan effort to compel a War Powers Resolution vote. Massie, a Kentucky Republican, co-sponsored the resolution with California Democrat Ro Khanna, requiring the President to seek Congressional approval before using military force against Iran. The resolution would force every member of Congress to publicly declare whether they support military action in the Middle East.

Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee released a statement calling any war without Congressional authorization unconstitutional and reckless. They emphasized that while the Iranian regime has killed thousands of protesters and remains destabilizing, undertaking military action without understanding risks to American servicemembers constitutes a dangerous gamble. The committee pledged to compel the vote as soon as lawmakers return to Washington.

Trump Supporters Rally Behind Strikes

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania broke with fellow Democrats, praising Operation Epic Fury and pledging to vote against the war powers resolution. Fetterman stated that President Trump has done what is necessary to produce real peace in the Middle East, offering blessings to the United States military and Israel. His position highlights the split among Democrats on Middle East military intervention.

Behind the Scenes Notifications

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Gang of Eight received advance notification before the strikes commenced. Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted these eight Congressional leaders through calls and text messages ahead of the military action. The Gang of Eight includes the chairs and ranking members of both House and Senate Intelligence Committees, plus the four Congressional leaders. This notification process addresses some constitutional concerns but does not satisfy those demanding a full Congressional authorization vote before military engagement continues.

    • Was I dreaming or did Trump claimed that his previous action in Iran had successfully destroyed Iran’s ability for an atomic weapon?

So is he lying now or did he lie before?

      • Are you actually that deft. His action was also clear that they would be forbidden to try and rebuild. Which they have. Try spending an hour on Fox to get a better insight as to current events.

  1. I’m with Trump. He must be right if congress is against it. This should have been done long ago. God bless America.

    • Nothing healthier for Democracy than to blindly trust the word of a leader with one of the most notorious records for lying.

  2. Congratulations to President Trump and his administration for the decisive military stance taken through Operation Epic Fury.
This bold action, carried out in partnership with Israel, reflects a commitment to confronting threats and protecting innocent lives. May wisdom and discernment continue to guide every decision made in defense of peace and freedom.
We now lift up in prayer the courageous men and women of the United States Armed Forces and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)—those who stand on the front lines with strength, honor, and sacrifice.

🙏 Prayer for the U.S. Military and Israel’s IDF
    Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the brave souls who serve in the military of the United States and in the Israel Defense Forces. Cover them with Your protection, surround them with Your peace, and strengthen them with Your wisdom.
Let every mission be guided by righteousness, and let every decision be rooted in truth.
Shield them from harm, comfort their families, and grant them clarity in the face of uncertainty.
May their courage be a light in dark places, and may their service help bring safety, justice, and peace to the nations.
We ask for Your divine hand to lead them, and for Your Spirit to dwell among them.
In the mighty name of Yeshua, Amen.

  3. The people that support this illegal and unconstitutional declaration of war clearly do not remember Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraqi ‘wars’. We lost thousands of our sons, husbands, friends, brothers in those useless and LOST wars.
The President can only declare war on a nation that has attacked us first.
Granted, Iran is a problem but to kill thousands (as Netanyahu has done in Gaza) is reprehensible. And before this is over, thousands will die. The Middle East is a hotbed of issues, not the least of which is the desire to rid itself of Israel and the interference of the United States. A famous WWII quote comes to mind. “We have awakened a sleeping giant…”

    • If these middle east countries would leave Israel alone, stop attacking them first, retaliation wouldn’t be happening!

  4. By Constitutional law, President does not have the right to declare war. It has to go through Congress to be approved. I’m a Trump supporter, but we need to keep to the Constitution. If Obama and Biden hadn’t lifted Bush’s sanctions on Iran in the first place none of this would be a problem!
