Maduro REMOVAL DEFENSE HALTED by Senate Protest

Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the Trump administration’s military intervention in Venezuela before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, declaring America is “certainly better off today” following the operation that removed Nicolas Maduro from power.

Venezuelan Military Action Defended

During Wednesday’s hearing on Capitol Hill, Rubio faced intense questioning about the recent U.S. military raid that ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The Secretary of State maintained the administration’s position that the intervention was necessary and successful. A protester interrupted the proceedings as Rubio began his testimony, highlighting the controversial nature of the military action. Senate Democrats pressed Rubio on the legal justification for the operation and its long-term implications for regional stability.

The hearing marked Rubio’s first comprehensive defense of the Venezuela policy since taking office. Republicans on the committee largely supported the administration’s actions, citing years of human rights abuses under Maduro’s regime. Rubio emphasized that the intervention aimed to restore democratic governance and alleviate the humanitarian crisis that has displaced millions of Venezuelans across Latin America.

NATO and Greenland Discussions

Beyond Venezuela, Rubio addressed concerns about America’s commitment to NATO while reiterating longstanding complaints about alliance members’ defense spending. He downplayed suggestions that the Trump administration was undermining the transatlantic security partnership. The Secretary reported positive progress in technical discussions with Denmark and Greenland regarding an Arctic security agreement, expressing optimism that negotiations would reach a favorable conclusion for all parties involved.

Congressional Oversight Continues

The Foreign Relations Committee hearing represents ongoing congressional oversight of the administration’s foreign policy decisions. Senators from both parties questioned Rubio extensively about the precedent set by military intervention in Venezuela and its potential impact on future diplomatic efforts. The Secretary’s appearance comes as Congress debates funding for reconstruction efforts in Venezuela and support for refugees displaced by decades of political turmoil under socialist leadership.

Rand Paul has become his Father…a sad example of being bored too long without any common sense and striving to be a “somebody” when the law and Rubio was correct and Rand must have been a pathetic Dr when he practiced…as his not knowing the law as a senator is reprehensible …just imagine his Doctoring..?
